Summary:To provide a vehicle control device, a vehicle control method, and a program, which can perform automatic operation according to a movement of a peripheral vehicle while improving comfort of an occupant.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device includes: a recognition section for recognizing objects around one's own vehicle; an operation control section for controlling a speed or steering of the own vehicle on the basis of positions of the objects; and a prediction section for predicting that a predetermined vehicle moves to a front of the own vehicle in its own line when the predetermined vehicle at a position in which traversing the own line is possible is recognized.
