Summary:To provide a radar device and radar device control method that can prevent throughput from increasing.SOLUTION: A radar device according to an embodiment comprises: a reception unit; a FET processing unit; and a peak extraction unit. The reception unit is configured to receive a reflection wave in which a transmission wave having a frequency successively changed is reflected by a target by a plurality of reception antennas. The FET processing unit is configured to, when conducting two-dimensional FFT processing to a beat signal based on the reflection wave received by an arbitrary reception antenna of the plurality of reception antennas, conduct a two-dimension-th FET processing thereto in a first range. The peak extraction unit is configured to extract a peak corresponding to a target from the frequency spectrum serving a processing result of the FFT processing unit.
