Summary:To provide a planar shape measuring device with which it is possible to measure the planar shape of a flat plate of a rolling line with high accuracy.SOLUTION: An embodiment comprises: an imager for imaging a two-dimensional image of a flat plate in a first readout range; a parameter commander for setting, on the basis of a table in which a correspondence relation between a parameter for determining the light receiving characteristic of the imager and the temperature of the flat plate is set, the parameter for temperature information acquired in advance, and commanding to the imager; a readout range setter for switching between the first readout range and a second readout range that is a portion of the first readout range; a plate presence detection-luminance level computing element for detecting the position of the flat plane by an image in the second readout range and computing the adjustment amount of the parameter on the basis of the luminance level in the second readout range and a prescribed target luminance; and a profile value computing device.
