Summary:To provide a composite ceramic member maintaining mechanical properties originally obtained by silicon carbide such as high hardness, excellent in lubricity and durability, and useful as a slide member or the like.SOLUTION: There is provided a composite ceramic member formed by composite ceramic containing many particles with grain size of 5 to 20 μm, and having Vickers hardness of 2,000 or more, and relative density of 95% or more, the composite ceramic has a processed surface with center line average roughness Ra of 20 nm or less, containing silicon carbide of 20 to 50 mass%, at least one of carbide and boride having Vickers hardness of 2,000 or more, and having many craters with aperture diameter of 20 μm or less and depth of 10 nm to 20 nm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】高硬度である等の炭化ケイ素本来の機械的特性が維持されているとともに、潤滑性及び耐久性に優れた、摺動部材等として有用な複合セラミックス部材を提供する。【解決手段】グレインサイズ5〜20μmの多数の粒子を含む、ビッカース硬度2,000以上、相対密度95%以上の複合セラミックスで形成されており、複合セラミックスが、炭化ケイ素20〜50質量%と、ビッカース硬度2,000以上の炭化物及びホウ化物の少なくともいずれかと、を含有し、開口径20μm以下、深さ10nm〜20μmの多数のクレーターを有する、中心線平均粗さRa20nm以下の加工面を備える複合セラミックス部材である。【選択図】図1
