To provide a light emitting element having high luminous efficiency and long life.SOLUTION: The light emitting element includes: a first electrode; a light emitting layer on the first electrode; an electron transport layer on the light emitting layer; an electron injection layer, located on the electron transport layer, in contact with the electron transport layer; and a second electrode, located on the electron injection layer, in contact with the electron injection layer. The electron injection layer includes a lithium complex including an 8-quinolinol ligand.
