Summary:To separate at least one edge part of a glass ribbon, having beads at opposite edge parts, from its center part.SOLUTION: A supply source 105 is provided for a glass ribbon 103 having a pair of opposite edge parts 201, 203 and a center part 205 spreading laterally between the opposite edge parts, and the glass ribbon is passed through a descent zone 123 in a facing-down direction 121 to the supply source. The glass ribbon is bent in a bending zone 125 downstream from the descent zone, and the glass ribbon includes an upward concave surface while passed through the bending zone. The glass ribbon is passed to a cutting zone 147 downstream from the bending zone, and further bent in the cutting zone to provide a bent target segment 151 having a bending arrangement in the cutting zone.
