Summary:To provide an obstacle detection device that can prevent a decrease in a detection sensitivity of an obstacle even if the obstacle is in contact with the moving body and even if the obstacle is repeatedly contacted to a moving body without being damaged.SOLUTION: The device includes a mounting member 13 in which an optical passage 12 is formed along a longitudinal direction mounted along the lateral direction of the moving body 11 in a traveling direction on a front or back side of the moving body 11, a light emitting portion 17 and a light receiving portion 18 as a pair provided respectively on both sides of the longitudinal direction of the mounting member 13 in the obstacle detection device 10 having a covering member 16 made of an elastic body covering the mounting member 13, and a determining means 19 for determining the presence or absence of contact of the obstacle 15 with the covering member 16 from a light quantity change when the light emitted from a light emitting unit 17 passes through the optical passage 12 and is detected by the light receiving unit 18.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】移動体に障害物が接触しても破損せず、移動体に障害物が繰り返し接触しても障害物の検知感度の低下を防止できる障害物検知装置を提供する。【解決手段】移動体11の進行方向前側又は後ろ側に移動体11の左右方向に沿って装着され、光通路12が長手方向に沿って形成された取付け部材13と、取付け部材13を覆う弾性体からなる覆い部材16とを有する障害物検知装置10において、取付け部材13の長手方向の両側にそれぞれ設けられた対となる発光部17及び受光部18と、発光部17から出射される光が光通路12を通過して受光部18で検出される際の光量変化から、覆い部材16に対する障害物15の接触有無を判定する判定手段19とを有する。【選択図】図4
