Summary:To continuously perform drive assistance control.SOLUTION: A drive assisting device comprises: a first type sensor that detects an object ahead; a second type sensor different from the first type sensor; and a control unit that uses outputs from the first type and second type sensors to control a vehicle such that the distance of the object ahead of the vehicle is within a predetermined range. In a case where an object is detected ahead of the vehicle on the basis of output from one of the first type and second type sensors, when an object is not detected on the bases of output from the other sensor, and in a case where an environment of the non-detection sensor satisfies a first condition relating to the reliability of output from the non-detection sensor, the control unit does not execute inter-vehicle distance control ((C12 LR,C21 LL). In a case where an environment of the non-detection sensor satisfies the second condition indicating that the reliability of output from the non-detection sensor is lower than the first condition, the control unit executes the inter-vehicle distance control (C12 LL,C21 LU) on the basis of output from a detection sensor by which the object has been detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】運転支援制御を継続的に行う。【解決手段】運転支援装置であって:前方の物体を検出する第1種のセンサと;第1種のセンサとは異なる第2種のセンサと;第1種および第2種のセンサの出力を使用して、車両の前方にある物体との距離が所定範囲内となるように車両を制御する車間距離制御を実行する制御部と、を備える。制御部は、第1種と第2種のセンサのうち一方の出力に基づき車両の前方に物体を検出し、他方の出力に基づき車両の前方に物体を検出しない場合に、さらに:不検出センサの環境が、不検出センサの出力の信頼性に関する第1条件を満たす場合は、車間距離制御を行わず(C12LR,C21LL);不検出センサの環境が、第1条件より不検出センサの出力の信頼性が低いことを表す第2条件を満たす場合は、物体が検出されているセンサである検出センサの出力に基づいて、車間距離制御を行う(C12LL,C21LU)。【選択図】図5
