To discover an abnormality behind a shield.SOLUTION: A monitoring system comprises video acquisition means, detection means, and notification means. The video acquisition means of the monitoring system acquires video. The detection means of the monitoring system detects an intrusion of a target object into a blind spot caused by a shielding object in the video, and detects an appearance of the target object from the blind spot.
