To provide a muffler having a double-tube structure which can cope with a plurality of frequencies.SOLUTION: One embodiment of this disclosure is a muffler having an inner tube and an outer tube. A clearance is provided between the inner tube and the outer tube. At a second end part, an opening connected to the outer tube is formed at the inner tube, and the clearance is constituted so as to communicate with an exhaust air passage via the opening. The inner tube has a first range having a first outer peripheral face, and a second range constituting the opening, and having a second outer peripheral face located more inside from the first external peripheral face. In the first range, a space between the inner tube and the outer tube is closed by bringing the first outer peripheral face into contact with an inner peripheral face of the outer tube. In the second range, a part of the clearance is formed between a first outside face and an inside face of the outer tube.
