To provide a rental system and a method for renting that can increase the trust that the users of the rental system have to the rental system and a rental mobile battery.SOLUTION: The mobile battery includes: a charge/discharge state detection unit for detecting a charged state or a discharged state of the mobile battery and storing the charged state or the discharged state as charge/discharge state information; and a physical state detection unit for detecting the physical state of the mobile battery and storing the physical state as physical state information.
