Summary:To provide a vibration type motor having good drive efficiency.SOLUTION: A vibration type motor 10 has a transducer 11 including a protrusion 13a and vibrating by application of a driver voltage, a friction member 14 having a slide face 14a formed with a curved surface coming into contact with the protrusion 13a, and compression means P for compressing the transducer 11 against the friction member 14 with a compression force F1, generating a driving force F2 in the tangential direction of the slide face 14a by vibration, and driving the transducer 11 and the friction member 14 relatively.
