Summary: | To provide a novel technology capable of improving extraction efficiency of ultraviolet rays emitted by a semiconductor light-emitting element, and durability.SOLUTION: A semiconductor light-emitting element 10 has: a light-emission part 12 that emits ultraviolet rays; and a coating part that covers an extraction surface 12a where the ultraviolet rays emitted by the light-emission part are extracted. The coating part includes: a resin matrix 14b that has a refractive index lower than that of an inorganic material configuring the extraction surface 12a; and a hollow body 14c that reduces the refractive index of the whole coating part by being dispersed into the resin matrix 14b. The hollow body 14c has an average particle diameter smaller than a peak wavelength of the ultraviolet rays emitted by the light-emission part 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
