Summary:To provide a rotary electric machine exhibiting excellent permanent magnet protection and motor characteristics.SOLUTION: A rotary electric machine comprises a circulation circuit constituted by electrically connecting a rotor iron core 2 provided with a plurality of permanent magnets 1, each magnet protection member 16 between the permanent magnet and the rotor iron core, the conductive magnet protection member 16, and a short circuit conductor 4. The permanent magnet protected by the magnet protection member is inserted in a permanent magnet insertion hole 22 that is a through hole provided in the rotor iron core 2. The magnet protection member is in the form of a hollow quadrangular column, and the permanent magnet 1 is stored in the hollow part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 【課題】永久磁石の保護及び、モータ特性の優れた回転電機を提供する。【解決手段】回転電機は、複数の永久磁石１が設けられる回転子鉄心２と、永久磁石と回転子鉄心の間にそれぞれ設けられる磁石保護部材１６と、導体である磁石保護部材１６と、短絡用導体４とが電気的に接続されることによって循環回路が構成される。回転子鉄心２に設けられた貫通穴である磁石挿入孔２２に、磁石保護部材により保護された永久磁石が挿入されている。磁石保護部材は中空の四角柱の形状をしており、中空部分には永久磁石１が格納されている。【選択図】図６
