Summary:To provide an image formation apparatus which can determine whether or not the partial stain in a cleaning member is generated and reduce the occurrence of the image defect due to the partial stain.SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus includes: an image formation unit which forms an image on an image carrier; a cleaning member which removes the image on the image carrier with the application of a cleaning bias; a recover member which recovers from the cleaning member the image removed by the cleaning member with the application of a recover bias; a current detection unit which detects the electric current flowing in the recover member applied with the recover bias; and a control unit which determines whether or not there is the partial stain on the surface of the cleaning member on the basis of the electric current detected by the current detection unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】クリーニング部材における部分的な汚れが発生しているか否かを判定し、ひいては部分的な汚れに起因した画像不良の発生を低減することが可能な画像形成装置を提供する。【解決手段】画像形成装置は、像担持体に画像を形成する画像形成部と、クリーニングバイアスが印加されることで像担持体上の画像を除去するクリーニング部材と、回収バイアスが印加されることでクリーニング部材により除去された画像をクリーニング部材から回収する回収部材と、回収バイアスを印加された回収部材に流れる電流を検出する電流検出部と、電流検出部により検出された電流に基づいて、クリーニング部材の表面に部分的な汚れがあるか否かについて判定する制御部と、を備える。【選択図】図３
