To provide a recording device which enables easy jam processing.SOLUTION: A recording device includes: recording means which makes records on a recording medium; and a platen 9 which is provided facing the recording means in a recording part where the records are made and supports the recording medium while the records are being made. The platen 9 can be located in a first position where the platen 9 supports the recording medium while the records are being made and is supported against rotational force that rotates the platen 9 by a support member 92 for supporting the platen 9 and a second position where the platen 9 is rotated from the first position and clogging of the recording medium in the recording part can be resolved.
