To provide a coil sagging correction method and a coil sagging correction device in which a coil sagging can be corrected without deteriorating production efficiency.SOLUTION: A coil sagging correction method comprises: a detection process of detecting a transported coil by a sensor; a transferring step of transferring the coil, after lifting the coil to a position where the sensor cannot detect the coil, to a cradle roll; a sagging amount calculation step of calculating a sagging amount of the coil based on a height of the sensor set in the detection process, a lifting amount of the coil in the transferring step, and a radius of the coil; and a tail end position correction step of correcting, when the sagging amount of the coil calculated by the sagging amount calculation step is more than a prescribed threshold value, a tail end position of the coil by rotating the coil on the cradle roll according to the sagging amount of the coil.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】生産能率を下げることなくコイル垂れを修正することができるコイル垂れ修正方法およびコイル垂れ修正装置を提供すること。【解決手段】コイル垂れ修正方法は、搬送されてきたコイルをセンサによって検出する検出工程と、コイルを、センサによって検出不可能な位置まで持ち上げた後、クレードルロールに移載する移載工程と、検出工程におけるセンサの設置高さと、移載工程におけるコイルの持ち上げ量と、コイルの半径とに基づいて、コイルの垂れ量を算出する垂れ量算出工程と、垂れ量算出工程で算出されたコイルの垂れ量が所定の閾値を超える場合に、コイルの垂れ量に応じてクレードルロールの上のコイルを回転させ、コイルの尾端位置を修正する尾端位置修正工程と、を含んでいる。【選択図】図３
