Summary:To provide an azido group-containing fluoropolymer, having a perfluoropolyether having a specific molecular structure as a main chain structure, and having azido groups at both ends of a molecular chain through methylene groups, and a method of producing the same.SOLUTION: An azido group-containing fluoropolymer is represented by formula (1). The method of producing an azido group-containing fluoropolymer represented by formula (1) includes: reacting hydroxyl groups of a fluoropolymer obtained by blocking both ends of a molecular chain represented by formula (6) with methylol groups with sulfonyl halide compounds to substitute molecular both ends by sulfonyl ester groups; and successively reacting with sodium azide in a mixed solvent of a non-fluorine organic solvent and an at least partially fluorinated organic solvent.
