The cutting machine 1 includes: an electric motor 30 which drives so as to generate rotary force in the rotary cutting tool; a motor housing 20 housing the electric motor 30; and a controller 70 which controls driving of the electric motor 30. The controller 70 is housed in spaces 20e, 20f provided between an outer periphery 30a of the electric motor 30 and an inner periphery 20c of the motor housing 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 【課題】コントローラと電動モータとの配線距離を短くでき、さらに、ハンドルハウジングを小型化できる定置式または卓上型の切断機を提供すること。【解決手段】定置式または卓上型の切断機１は、回転刃具を回転させて被切断材を切断可能となっている。この切断機１は、回転刃具に回転力が生じるように駆動する電動モータ３０と、電動モータ３０を収容するモータハウジング２０と、電動モータ３０の駆動を制御するコントローラ７０とを備えている。コントローラ７０は、電動モータ３０の外周３０ａとモータハウジング２０の内周２０ｃとの間に設けられたスペース２０ｅ、２０ｆに収容されている。【選択図】図８
