To provide a grinding roll for rice milling which can be easily manufactured, has a light weight and a high rigidity, and further, can suppress increase of a grain temperature.SOLUTION: A grinding roll 18 for rice milling in a vertical type rice milling machine comprises a cylindrical body 29 made of a metal and other raw material, and abrasive grains 30 firmly adhered to a surface of the same. The cylindrical body 29 is made into a laminate 37 having a hollow part 35 in which unit flat plates 36 divided by a flat surface orthogonal to a vertical shaft 16, and an outer peripheral surface thereof is ground into a shape having several toric convex parts similar to a conventional powder emery roll in a vertical direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】製造し易く、軽量かつ剛性が高く、しかも米粒温度の上昇を抑制できる精米用研削ロールの提供を課題とする。【解決手段】堅型研削式精米機の精米用研削ロール１８であって、金属その他の素材からなる円筒体２９とその表面に固着された砥粒３０とからなる。円筒体２９は竪軸１６に直交する平面で分断した単位平板３６を積層して中空部３５を有した積層体３７とし、その外周面を従来の金剛砂ロールと同様な円環状の凸部を竪方向に数段有する形態に研削してある。【選択図】図３
