To provide a medium loading device which easily removes the medium exceeding the maximum load.SOLUTION: A medium loading device consists of a medium loading part which loads medium and a medium guide which controls the position of the medium loaded on the medium loading surface of the medium loading part. The medium guide has a contacting part which contacts the edge of the medium loaded on the medium loading surface. The contacting part has two parts defined by the height from the medium loading surface.
