Summary:To provide a reinforcement member for a vehicle and a center pillar for a vehicle having the same, which can reduce the amount of spring back upon the pressing, and improve accuracy in a surface position.SOLUTION: There is provided an elongated reinforcement member for a vehicle, which has a U-shaped cross-section, which is disposed inside a structural member for a vehicle, and joined by welding. The reinforcement member for a vehicle comprises: a pair of reinforcement side vertical wall portions which extend in vertical and lateral directions of a vehicle so as to be opposed to each other, and which are disposed inside a pair of first vertical wall portions of the structural member for a vehicle, the first vertical wall portions being opposed to each other; and a reinforcement side connection wall portion that connects outside edges, in the lateral direction of the vehicle, of the pair of reinforcement side vertical wall portions. The pair of reinforcement side vertical wall portions includes pairs of protruding portions for welding, each of which protrudes outward in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle, over the whole width from each ridge line formed between the reinforcement side vertical wall portion and the reinforcement side connection wall portion, to an inside edge in the lateral direction of the vehicle. Each protruding portion for welding has a seating surface for welding, which is welded to the first vertical wall portion.
