Summary: | To provide a document reading device that can guide a document to a downstream-side conveying unit without increasing the size of the device.SOLUTION: In a document reading device comprising a document reading unit and a document conveying unit, a contact glass 106 is provided on an upper side of the document reading unit in a document reading area, and a Mylar 115 is provided on the downstream side in a document conveyance direction of the contact glass 106. A document passing through the document reading area (top face of contact glass 106) comes into contact with the Mylar 115, and is thereby directed to be conveyed in an upward direction and guided to a downstream-side conveyance path 114.
