Summary: | To provide a method of producing fine and highly pure titanium hydroxide capable of maintaining a high specific surface area of 90 m/g or more even when heated at 600°C during production of barium titanate.SOLUTION: The method of producing titanium hydroxide includes: a step A of obtaining titanium hydroxide having a BET specific surface area of 300 m/g or more and a crystallite diameter of 20 Å or more by simultaneous neutralization of titanium halide aqueous solution and an alkaline substance under conditions of pH 4.8 to 5.2 and temperature 40 to 55°C; and a step C of washing the titanium hydroxide and dispersing it in water so as to form a slurry, adding to the slurry, in terms of titanium oxide(TiO), (a)1.0 to 5.0% by weight of phosphorus compound or 2.0 to 5.0% by weight of silicon compound or (b) a total of 1.0 to 5.0% or less by weight of a phosphorus compound and a silicon compound, and washing and drying a mixed slurry obtained.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
【課題】チタン酸バリウムの製造時、600℃加熱でも、90m2/g以上の高比表面積を維持できる微細かつ高純度な水酸化チタン製造方法の提供。【解決手段】ハロゲン化チタン水溶液とアルカリ性物質をpH4.8〜5.2及び温度40〜55℃の条件下に同時中和して、BET比表面積300m2/g以上、結晶子径20Å以上の水酸化チタンを得る工程Aと、該水酸化チタンを水洗し、水分散させて、スラリーとし、このスラリーに酸化チタン(TiO2)換算、(a)リン化合物1.0〜5.0重量%若しくはケイ素化合物2.0〜5.0重量%、又は(b)リン化合物とケイ素化合物を合計量で1.0〜5.0重量%以下%を加え、得られた混合スラリーを水洗し、乾燥する工程Cを含む水酸化チタンの製造方法。【選択図】図4 |
