To provide a vehicle surroundings monitoring device that monitors surroundings of a vehicle using a keyless device.SOLUTION: In a vehicle surroundings monitoring device composed of a portable slave machine 30 possessing a unique ID code and a master machine 1 mounted in a vehicle, the master machine 1 authenticates the ID code possessed by the slave machine 30 through an authentication unit 8, and transmits vehicle information including a vehicle state via the slave machine 30 from a transmission unit 4 in a time period when such authentication is not being performed.
