To easily set various data without performing operation of an operation button in a remote controller for an air conditioner.SOLUTION: A remote controller (30) includes an external communication section (45) having an NFC circuit (42) and an NFC antenna (43). The external communication section (45) enables radio communication with an external device even when power is not supplied to the remote controller (30) and operation of a built-in microcomputer (36) is impossible.
