To provide a wastewater treatment device and a wastewater treatment method capable of preventing the outflow of a carrier by suppressing the accumulation of biogas between the bottom of a treatment tank or the carrier.SOLUTION: A wastewater treatment device for treating organic wastewater with anaerobic microorganisms, comprises: a treatment tank 11 containing a carrier by which the anaerobic microorganism is carried; supply pipes 12, 13 and 14 for supplying the organic wastewater to the treatment tank 11; and an exhaust pipe that discharges a treated water from the treatment tank 11.
