Summary:To realize a technique capable of improving demagnetization proof strength at a corner of a permanent magnet.SOLUTION: A permanent magnet 1 is used for a rotary electric machine having a rotor 3 and a stator 2, and comprises: a pair of magnetic pole face sections MF formed so as to face an opposite side to each other; a non-magnetic pole face section F that is a face other than the pair of magnetic pole face sections MF; and a plurality of corner sections C formed at a boundary section of the magnetic pole face section MF and the non-magnetic pole face section F. From among the plurality of corner sections C, the corner section C arranged nearest to a gap G between the rotor 3 and the stator 2 is an object corner section C1.
