Summary:To prevent water from entering an engine without making an upper end position of an intake device for engine excessively high when a vehicle passes a flooding path, in the intake device.SOLUTION: An intake device for engine includes: an inlet duct 12 which is disposed at an upstream side of an air cleaner in an air flow; and a dam 40 with floating body. The dam with floating body is supported in a displaceable manner in a vertical direction with respect to the inlet duct, and includes a tabular dam body 41 and a floating body 60 which is fixed to a lower end portion of the dam body. dam with floating body is vertically moved in accordance of a level of water in the vicinity of the floating body. When the level of water in the vicinity of the floating body becomes lower, the dam body is moved down in such a manner that both ends of the inlet duct in a flow direction of air are communicated and when the level of water in the vicinity of the dam body becomes higher, the dam body is moved up and protrudes inside of the inlet duct in such a manner that a flow of water from the upstream side to a downstream side in the flow direction of air is dammed up.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】エンジン用吸気装置において、車両が浸水路を通過する場合に、吸気装置の上端位置を過度に高くすることなく、エンジンへの水の進入を防止することである。【解決手段】エンジン用吸気装置は、エアクリーナよりエア流れの上流側に配置されたインレットダクト12と、浮き体付堰40とを含む。浮き体付堰は、インレットダクトに対し、上下方向における変位可能に支持され、板状の堰本体41と、堰本体の下端部に固定された浮き体60とを有する。浮き体付堰は、浮き体の付近の水の水位に応じて上下動するとともに、浮き体の付近の水の水位が低くなるときにはインレットダクトのエアの流れ方向両端部を通じさせるように堰本体が下降し、浮き体の付近の水の水位が高くなるときには、エアの流れ方向上流側から下流側への水の流れをせき止めるように堰本体が上昇してインレットダクトの内部に突出する。【選択図】図5
