Summary:To provide a lubricant having good viscometric property and high thickening efficiency.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a syndiotactic polymer containing a unit derived from propylene and a unit derived from C-Calpha olefin. The polymer is prepared by slurry or solution polymerization process using a zirconium-containing metallocene catalyst system. The polymer has a melt flow rate of approximately 0.1 to approximately 20 g/10 min measured in accordance with ASTM D-1238 (230°C, 2.16 kg).
