Summary: | To provide a control device of a power transmission device for a vehicle which can suppress the generation of a gear change shock when switching a gear mode to a stepless gear change mode from a second backward gear mode.SOLUTION: In a control device of a power transmission device for a vehicle having a gear mode and a stepless gear change mode, the gear mode has a first backward gear mode in which a second valve is opened, and which is formed by the communication of a second solenoid and a first engagement element, and a second backward gear mode in which a first valve is opened by hydraulic pressure outputted from a first solenoid, and which is formed by the communication of the first engagement element and first hydraulic pressure supply means. When the second solenoid is failed during the first backward gear mode, the second backward gear mode is formed, and when a gear change ratio of a continuously variable transmission is lower than a prescribed value in the second backward gear mode, changeover to the stepless gear change mode is prohibited.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
