To provide a hermetic type compressor capable of preventing generation of spark by preventing a live wire portion from being brought into contact with a metallic surface even when a terminal rod is separated.SOLUTION: A hermetic compressor includes a cylindrical barrel portion (1) of a compressor shell, a terminal (40) disposed on an outer peripheral face of the barrel portion (1), a terminal guard (10) vertically disposed on the barrel portion (1) while surrounding the circumference of the terminal (40), and a terminal cover (20) mounted on the terminal guard (10) and covering the terminal (40). A metallic part facing a terminal chamber (C1) defined by the barrel portion (1), the terminal guard (10) and the terminal cover (20) is substantially covered by the terminal cover (20) and an insulation sheet portion (50) so that it is not exposed to a terminal chamber (C1) side excluding at least a body portion (41) of the terminal (40).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 【課題】ターミナルロッドが抜けても活線部が金属表面に接触しないようにしてスパークの発生を防止できる密閉型圧縮機を提供する。【解決手段】密閉型圧縮機は、圧縮機シェルの円筒形状の胴部(１)と、胴部(１)の外周面に設けられたターミナル(４０)と、ターミナル(４０)の周囲を囲むように胴部(１)に立設されたターミナルガード(１０)と、ターミナルガード(１０)に取り付けられ、ターミナル(４０)を覆うターミナルカバー(２０)とを備える。上記胴部(１)とターミナルガード(１０)およびターミナルカバー(２０)によって区画されたターミナル室(Ｃ１)に面する金属部分は、ターミナルカバー(２０)と絶縁シート部(５０)により少なくともターミナル(４０)のボディ部(４１)を除いてターミナル室(Ｃ１)側に露出しないように概ね覆われている。【選択図】図６
