Summary: | To provide an operation method of a cleaner 1 that autonomously moves in an environment.SOLUTION: In an operation method of a cleaner 1 that autonomously moves in an environment, the cleaner 1 cleans a fixed surface partial region 2 spatially partitioned in an environment. To optimize a cleaning operation according a measured contamination level, a detection device of the cleaner 1 measures the contamination level of the surface partial region 2 while cleaning the surface partial region 2 is performed. The contamination level is compared with a fixed reference contamination level, and when a contamination level exceeding the reference contamination level is detected inside the surface partial region 2, the surface partial region 2 is automatically expanded by adding a fixed addition partial region 4 adjacent to the surface partial region 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
