Summary:To provide an operation method of a cleaner 1 that autonomously moves in an environment.SOLUTION: In an operation method of a cleaner 1 that autonomously moves in an environment, the cleaner 1 cleans a fixed surface partial region 2 spatially partitioned in an environment. To optimize a cleaning operation according a measured contamination level, a detection device of the cleaner 1 measures the contamination level of the surface partial region 2 while cleaning the surface partial region 2 is performed.
