Summary: | To divide an imaging region of one imaging element into a high distance measurement accuracy region and a relatively low region and set a region in which a distance is measured with high accuracy.SOLUTION: The present invention comprises an imaging device 120 including an optical system 122 and a distance measurement unit 105 for calculating a distance to a target on the basis of the image data acquired from an imaging element 121. The optical system 122 is provided with a free-form surface lens 123 which is rotationally asymmetrical and has such a shape that an image can be formed on an imaging plane so that resolution of a first region that is the region of a front portion is higher than resolution of a second region that is the region of a lateral portion. With an arrangement direction of the first and second regions defined as a horizontal direction and a direction orthogonal to the arrangement direction defined as a vertical direction, the free-form surface lens 123 is shaped to allow an image to be formed in such a way that the resolution at a position apart by a prescribed first distance from a center of the first region in the vertical direction and the resolution at a position apart by the first distance from the center of the first region in the horizontal direction are different from each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
