Summary: | To improve ignitability of a spark plug.SOLUTION: A spark plug includes a main body metal fitting having a through hole extending in the direction of the axis line, an insulator fixed to the inner peripheral side of the main body metal fitting, a center electrode including a portion placed at the tip of the insulator and forming a first discharge surface, and a rod-like ground electrode having one end being joined to the apical surface of the main body metal fitting, and an end part including the second end forms a second discharge surface for forming a discharge gap between the first discharge surface of the center electrode. When projecting the main body metal fitting and the ground electrode, in the projection direction, onto a projection plane perpendicular to the projection direction, i.e., the direction toward the axis line, perpendicular to the axis line from the center position of the first end of the ground electrode, the projected ground electrode is extending from the first end toward in the extension direction, intersecting the axis line obliquely, on the projection plane.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
【課題】点火プラグの着火性を向上する。【解決手段】点火プラグは、軸線の方向に延びる貫通孔を有する主体金具と、主体金具の内周側に固定された絶縁体と、絶縁体の先端部に配置される部分を含むとともに第1放電面を形成する中心電極と、棒状の接地電極であって、第1端が主体金具の先端面に接合されるとともに、第2端を含む端部が中心電極の第1放電面との間で放電ギャップを形成する第2放電面を形成する接地電極と、を備える。接地電極の第1端の中心の位置から、軸線に垂直に、軸線に向かう方向である投影方向に垂直な投影面上に、主体金具と接地電極とを投影方向に沿って投影する場合に、投影面上において、投影された接地電極は、第1端から、軸線に対して斜めに交差する方向である延長方向に向かって、延びている。【選択図】 図3 |
