To provide a lighting device which achieves high luminous efficiency.SOLUTION: A lighting device 1 of the invention includes: an elongated device body 10 attached to a ceiling surface; a light source comprising a substrate 20 on which light emitting elements 21 are mounted and a holding member 22 which holds the substrate 20; and an elongated cover unit 30 which is detachably attached to the lower side of the device body 10 with the light source attached to its upper part. An opening 32c is formed at the upper part of the cover unit 30 so that the light emitting elements 21 are exposed to the interior of the cover unit 30. The peripheral parts 32d, 32e at both longitudinal sides of the opening 32c in the upper part of the cover unit 30 incline to a direction of a lower part of the cover unit 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】発光効率の高い照明装置を提供する。【解決手段】本発明の照明装置１は、天井面に取り付けられる長尺状の器具本体１０と、発光素子２１を実装する基板２０及び該基板２０を保持する保持部材２２から構成される光源と、該光源を上部に取り付けた状態で、器具本体１０の下側に着脱自在に装着される長尺状のカバーユニット３０と、を備え、カバーユニット３０の上部には、発光素子２１がカバーユニット３０の内部に向かって露出するように開口部３２ｃが形成されており、カバーユニット３０の上部における開口部３２ｃの長手方向両側の周辺部３２ｄ、３２ｅがカバーユニット３０の下部方向に傾斜している。【選択図】図２
