To provide a method for manufacturing a vehicle interior member in which the quality of the vehicle interior member is improved.SOLUTION: A base material 12 is set in a first die 32 and a skin material 14 is set in a second die 34. When closing the first die 32 and the second die 34 relatively close to each other and before the base material 12 touches the skin material 14, holding means 44 provided on the first die 32 is pressed against a peripheral portion 14b of the skin material 14 and holds the skin material 14 with the peripheral portion 14b sandwiched between the holding means 44 and the second die 34. In this manner, the first die 32 and the second die 34 are closed while holding the peripheral portion 14b of the skin material 14 by the holding means 44, and the base material 12 and the skin material 14 are press-fitted to produce a vehicle interior member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】車両内装部材の品質を向上する。【解決手段】基材１２を第１型３２にセットして、表皮材３４を第２型３４にセットする。第１型３２と第２型３４とを相対的に近づけて閉じるとき、表皮材１４に基材１２が当たる前に、第１型３２に設けられた保持手段４４を表皮材１４の周縁部分１４ｂに当てて、保持手段４４と第２型３４との間に周縁部分１４ｂを挟んで表皮材１４を保持する。このように、保持手段４４で表皮材１４の周縁部分１４ｂを押さえたもとで、第１型３２と第２型３４とを閉じて基材１２と表皮材１４とを圧着して、車両内装部材を得る。【選択図】図３
