To provide an image forming apparatus that can obtain an image with high saturation and high density uniformity in the entire density area regardless of the type of an output medium.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an image forming unit that forms images on a sheet; and a control unit that controls image formation performed by the image forming unit. The image forming unit includes an ink jet image forming unit 14 of an ink jet system, and an electrophotographic image forming unit 15.
