To provide an image recognition apparatus capable of improving the accuracy of stereo camera calibration in a stereo camera.SOLUTION: An image recognition apparatus comprises: a stereo camera 10 having a left camera 11 which is a first camera and a right camera 12 which is a second camera disposed with a base line length W from the left camera 11; a calibration unit 20 for executing calibration of the stereo camera 10; an actuator unit 30 for adjusting the length of the base line length W; and a controller 40 for determining an error Δ from the theoretical value of the base line length W on the basis of the parallax after the calibration and driving the actuator unit 30 on the basis of the error Δ.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】ステレオカメラにおけるステレオカメラキャリブレーションの精度向上が可能な画像認識装置を提供する。【解決手段】第１カメラである左カメラ１１と左カメラ１１と基線長Ｗを隔てて配置される第２カメラである右カメラ１２を備えたステレオカメラ１０と、ステレオカメラ１０のキャリブレーションを実行するキャリブレーション部２０と、基線長Ｗの長さを調整するアクチュエータ部３０と、キャリブレーション後における視差により基線長Ｗの理論値との誤差Δを求め、誤差Δに基づいてアクチュエータ部３０を駆動する制御部４０と、を有して画像認識装置を構成する。【選択図】図１
