Titanium oxide constituting the crystal 1 is a titanium oxide represented by the general formula TiOor a titanic acid compound represented by the general formula MTiO. M is a metal. The Magneli phase 1a is a titanium oxide represented by the general formula TiO(3≤n≤10). The titanium oxide crystal 1 has properties of the Magneli phase 1a while retaining properties of the titanium oxide serving as a base material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】導電助剤を必要としない、または導電助剤を最小限に抑えることのできる新規のチタン酸化物結晶体及び用途を提供する。【解決手段】新規のチタン酸化物結晶体1は、表面の一部にマグネリ相1aを有する。結晶体1を構成するチタン酸化物は、一般式TinO2nで表される酸化チタン、一般式MαTiβOγで表されるチタン酸化合物である。Mは金属である。マグネリ相1aは、一般式TinO2n−1(3≦n≦10)で表されるチタン酸化物である。このチタン酸化物結晶体1は、母材のチタン酸化物の特性を損なうことなく、マグネリ相1aの特定とを併せ持つ。【選択図】図1
