Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an insertion performance for a narrow section while maintaining a push-in performance for the narrow section in a medical device for acquiring a diagnostic image of a living body lumen.SOLUTION: A catheter 100 for image diagnosis includes a driving shaft 110 provided with an imaging part 115 capable of acquiring image information, a sheath part 120 provided with a lumen 125 for an image into which the driving shaft can be inserted, a guide wire insertion part 130 provided with a lumen 135 for a guide wire into which the guide wire 200 can be inserted, which is disposed on an external surface on the tip side of the sheath part, and a tip member 150, whose base end part 153 is disposed in the lumen for an image, and tip part 151 is disposed so as to protrude from the lumen for an image.
