PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cosmetic compositions containing at least one particular zinc salt and at least one cationic surfactant in a particular weight ratio, and to provide use of such compositions preferably in a form of a leave-on care product for conditioning keratin fibers and protecting their artificial color from fading.SOLUTION: A composition contains a non-nitrogenous zinc salt and a particular cationic surfactant. The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition containing in a particular weight ratio in a cosmetically acceptable medium at least one particular zinc salt, and at least one cationic surfactant selected from particular quaternary ammonium salts.
