Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously suppress the attenuation of signal power, which is input from a WSS to a transmission side optical amplifier, and a controlled amount of an inclination characteristic added at the transmission side optical amplifier to thereby improve OSNR in a WDM optical transmission device and a method therefor.SOLUTION: In the optical transmission device which superposes each optical signal, which is output from one or more transmitters 101, with a WDM signal to transmit to a transmission line 104, a storage unit 201 stores into, for example, a table 203 a modulation method and a wavelength range settable to an optical signal of the modulation method in such an associative manner that, for example, the relationship between the power and the wavelength of an optical signal output from each transmitter 101 associates with a relationship to compensate the tilt characteristic of the transmission line 104. A wavelength determination control unit 202 determines a wavelength, which is vacant in the WDM signal, for each transmitter 101 according to the association by the above table and the modulation method of the optical signal output from the transmitter 101, so as to control such that an optical signal wavelength output from the transmitter 101 becomes the determined wavelength.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】WDM方式による光伝送装置及び方法に関し、WSSから送信側光増幅器に入力される信号パワーの減衰量と送信側光増幅器で付与される傾き特性の制御量を同時に抑制することによりOSNRを改善する。【解決手段】1つ以上の送信機101から出力される光信号をWDM信号に重畳して伝送路104に送出する光伝送装置において、記憶部201は、例えば各送信機101が出力する光信号のパワーと波長の関係が伝送路104のチルト特性を補償する関係に対応するように、変調方式とその変調方式の光信号に設定可能な波長範囲とを対応付けて、例えばテーブル203に記憶する。波長決定制御部202は、各送信機101に対して、上記テーブルによる対応付けと送信機101から出力される光信号の変調方式に基づいて、WDM信号中で空いている波長を決定し、各送信機101が出力する光信号の波長がその決定した波長になるように制御する。【選択図】図2
