Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical carbonization furnace for manufacturing a ferro-coke that uniformly heats a material, has a simple structure, and reduces a construction cost and an operation cost.SOLUTION: A vertical carbonization furnace for manufacturing a ferro-coke of the present invention that carbonizes a molding of a carbon-containing material and an iron-containing material comprises: a carbonization furnace body 2 having a cross-section along a plane vertical to a longer direction of the furnace that has a rectangular shape; and a tuyeres 5 installed on a circumferential side surface of the carbonization furnace body for blowing gas into the carbonization furnace body. Two tuyeres or more are installed on both opposed long sides of the circumferential side surface, respectively.
