PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of coating a tip chip which can constrain coating liquid from flowing into a lumen of the tip chip when applying a coat to an external surface of the tip chip.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a coated tip chip for enabling the manufacturing a tip chip 6 coated with coating liquid, which tip chip is provided at a distal end of a medical elongated body. The method comprises: mounting the tip chip 6, which includes a lumen 62 formed to inwardly extend from the proximal end toward the distal end, onto a mandrel 8; using auxiliary members 91, 92 provided on the mandrel 8 to seal a gap between the lumen 62 of the tip chip 6 and the mandrel 8 in such a way as to prevent the coating liquid from flowing into the lumen 62 of the tip chip 6; and applying a coat of the coating liquid to an external surface 61 of the tip chip 6 mounted onto the mandrel 8.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】先端チップの外表面にコーティングを施す際に、コーティング液が先端チップの内腔に流入することを抑えることができる先端チップのコーティング方法を提供すること。【解決手段】コーティングされた先端チップの製造方法は、医療用長尺体の先端に設けられコーティング液によりコーティングされた先端チップ６の製造方法であって、基端から先端に向かって内部に延びて形成された内腔６２を有する先端チップ６をマンドレル８に装着し、コーティング液が先端チップ６の内腔６２へ流入しないように先端チップ６の内腔６２とマンドレル８との間の隙間をマンドレル８上に設けられる補助部材９１、９２により封止し、マンドレル８に装着された先端チップ６の外表面６１にコーティング液でコーティングを施す。【選択図】図１
