Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide catalysts for producing alcohol by heterogeneous hydrogenation of oxo process aldehydes.SOLUTION: This problem is solved by omitting chromium and nickel in preparation of a conventional Cu/Ni/Cr system, such that a catalyst is obtained in which neither chromium or nickel but only copper occurs as a hydrogenation-active component on a silicon dioxide support. This requires as necessary conditions that used support material be silicon dioxide and that the contents of Cu and SiOin the active catalyst be set accurately within very tight limits.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】オキソ法アルデヒドの不均一水素化によりアルコ−ルを製造するための銅触媒の提供。
