Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EL display device that is inexpensive and has high definition.SOLUTION: An EL display device has a pixel 102, including an EL element including a pixel electrode 105 connected to a current control TFT 104 as a cathode, arrayed on a substrate, and also has, on an opposite substrate 110, a light shield film 112 formed at a position corresponding to an edge of the pixel 102 and a color filter 113 formed at a position corresponding to the pixel 102. This light shield film 112 makes an outline of the pixel distinct to enable high-definition image display. Further, the EL display device according to the present invention can be manufactured by diverting substantially the whole of manufacturing lines of a liquid crystal display device and thereby reduces the load of facility investment to lower the total manufacturing costs.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】安価で高精細なEL表示装置を提供する。【解決手段】 電流制御用TFT104に接続された画素電極105を陰極とするEL素子を含む画素102が基板上に配列され、対向基板110には画素102の縁に対応した位置に遮光膜112が、画素102に対応した位置にカラーフィルター113が形成される。この遮光膜112により画素の輪郭が明瞭なものとなり、高精細な画像表示が可能となる。また、本願発明のEL表示装置は液晶表示装置の製造ラインの殆どを転用することができるため、設備投資の負担が少なく、総合的な製造コストが低い。【選択図】図1 |
