Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the ability to clean concave parts while cleaning convex parts of a cleaning target body having the concave and convex parts on its surface compared with a case of a cleaning member including brush bristles having a circular cross section.SOLUTION: A cleaning member comprises: a plurality of brush bristles 128b that are in contact at their tips with a charging roller 125 as a cleaning target body having concave parts 125a and convex parts 125b on its surface; and a brush base part in which the brush bristles are implanted. The cross-sectional shape of each of the brush bristles is an odd-form cross-sectional shape having projections 129 projecting toward the outer periphery, and at least the projections each have a size to enter the concave part of the cleaning target body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 【課題】円形断面のブラシ毛を備えた清掃部材に比較して、表面に凹凸を有する被清掃体の凸部を清掃しつつ凹部の清掃能力を高める。【解決手段】表面に凹凸１２５ａ、１２５ｂを有する被清掃体としての帯電ローラ１２５と、先端が接触する複数本のブラシ毛１２８ｂと、ブラシ毛が植え付けられたブラシ基部と、を備え、ブラシ毛は、断面形状が外周へ向けて突出した突出部１２９を有する異型断面形状であり、少なくとも前記突出部が前記被清掃体の凹部に入り込む大きさであるように構成した。【選択図】図８
