Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording technique that can achieve conveyance of recording sheets in an overlapped state and can increase the speed of recording operations without stain on recording sheets, a paper jam, or the like in both-side recording and without a decrease in image quality.SOLUTION: A recording device includes: feeding means for feeding recording sheets stacked on a stacker; conveying means for conveying the recording sheets fed by the feeding means; recording means for performing recording on the recording sheets conveyed by the conveying means; and controlling means for controlling the feeding means and the conveying means. When recording is successively performed on first surfaces of recording sheets, the feeding means forms an overlapped state in which the rear end of a preceding sheet is overlapped with the leading end of a subsequent sheet, and the conveying means conveys the recording sheets while maintaining the overlapped state. When both-side recording is performed on first and second surfaces of recording sheets, the feeding means does not form the overlapped state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】両面記録時における記録シート汚れ、紙ジャム等、および画質低下を発生させることなく、記録シートの重ね搬送を実現し、記録動作の高速化を可能とする記録技術を提供すること。【解決手段】記録装置は、積載部に積載された記録シートを給送する給送手段と、前記給送手段により給送された前記記録シートを搬送する搬送手段と、前記搬送手段により搬送された前記記録シートに記録を行う記録手段と、前記給送手段および前記搬送手段を制御する制御手段と、を備える。複数の記録シートの第1面に対して連続して記録を行う場合、給送手段によって先行シートの後端部と後続シートの先端部とを重ねた重ね状態を形成し、搬送手段によって前記重ね状態のまま前記記録シートを搬送する。記録シートの第1面および第2面に対して両面記録を行う場合、給送手段は重ね状態を形成しない。【選択図】 図1
