Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer that is able to reduce a non-printing end part of a printing medium while ensuring that the printing medium is easily handled by a user.SOLUTION: A cutting position is located downstream, in a tape conveyance path, of a printing position. A specific length X is the length of the conveyance path. A first margin length Y1 is the length, in a conveyance direction, of a portion provided downstream, in the tape conveyance direction, of a portion where printing is carried out. A separation length Z is the length of the conveyance path between the printing position and the cutting position. In a case of Z≥(X+Y1), the CPU of a printer performs conveyance of the tape by a distance (Z-Y1) and printing, then, cuts part of the tape, and resumes conveyance and printing. In a case of Z<X+Y1 and Y1≥Z, the CPU performs conveyance by a distance X, then cuts part of the tape, and resumes conveyance and printing. In a case of Z<X+Y1 and Y1<Z, the CPU performs conveyance of the tape by a distance (X+Y1-Z) and, then, performs conveyance by the distance (Z-Y1) and printing.
